How we work
Every plumber on the Fast Fix fleet is qualified, fully insured and background-checked, and every repair is made with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations in mind. That is not a badge on the van; it is the standard that decides which fittings we use, how a supply is protected against backflow, and whether a repair passes our checks at the end. Marcus checks the qualifications himself before anyone attends a call-out, the same way he has since the business was one van and one rule.
Safe isolation is the first job on every call. Before a repair starts, the water is shut off at the stopcock or the nearest isolating valve, the system is drained down where it needs to be, and the boiler or immersion heater is switched off if hot water is involved. If water has reached electrics, nobody touches anything until it is safe. It adds a few minutes to every job. Those minutes are why our plumbers go home safe at the end of a night shift, and why your house never becomes the site of a second emergency.
When the work is done, you get paperwork rather than promises. Every job comes with an itemised invoice and a plain written note of what failed, what we replaced and how it was checked, the kind of record insurers ask for after an escape of water. Some new installations also have to be notified to your water supplier before work starts; the rules vary with the job, so we confirm what applies up front. If a job touches gas, we handle the plumbing side and tell you straight away if a Gas Safe registered engineer is needed.
On every job
Emergency work moves fast, but it never skips steps. Whatever brought us out to you, these six things happen on every single job.
Here is the honest bit. Sometimes the safest fix at 2am is not a full repair at all: it is isolating the leaking section, getting water back to the rest of the house, and coming back in daylight to do the job properly. A repair rushed under a torch at midnight can stop a drip tonight and fail behind a wall next month, and we will not put our name to that.
What it costs you: occasionally a night with one tap, toilet or radiator out of use while the rest of your home runs normally. What it buys you: a repair that is checked, documented and still sound years from now. We will always tell you which you are getting before we start, and if we do need to come back, the return visit is booked before we leave.

FAQ
Feel free to contact us for more information
Every repair comes with an itemised invoice and a written note recording what failed, what we replaced and how we checked it. Where we have traced a leak, the note also records where it was and what caused it. Either way it arrives without you chasing it, and it is worth keeping for insurance claims, house sales and landlord records.
Not usually for emergency work. Like-for-like repairs, such as replacing a split pipe, a faulty valve or a worn tap, do not normally need notifying. Some new installations do have to be notified to your water supplier before work starts under the water fittings regulations. Where that applies to your job, we tell you up front and explain exactly what is involved.
Always. A repair is not finished when the drip stops; it is finished when the water is back on and every joint we touched has been checked under pressure with no weeping. Checking is how we catch the second leak hiding behind the first, and it is what goes into the note we leave you.
Vetting happens before anyone attends a call-out: qualifications verified, full insurance in place, background checks completed. The plumbers on our fleet work to the standard Marcus set when the business was one van, and when you phone us it is a plumber who answers, not a call centre passing your job to a stranger.
